Cliff Iles was the original Chair of South Eastern Community Care’s Board for a period of one year. Cliff returned to the Board as a Director in 2009, remaining until he was 92—a period of just over ten years.
Cliff was a councillor with Sorell Council for many years, and Warden (Mayor) for 18 years.
Cliff has been heavily involved in Community and Political projects- Life member Sorell Bowls Club, member Tasmanian Farmers Federation, member (and past President) Tasmanian Division of Independent Retirees, Tasmanian Confederation of Industries Executive Director (1979–92) representing growth and sustainability on a State and National level, past Board member of Royal Automotive Club of Tasmania and much much more.
Cliff was recognised with a Queens 25 year Jubilee medal in 1977, and awarded Order of Australia in 1992 for contributions to Industrial Relations, Community Affairs and Local Government. Cliff was enrolled in the Sorell District School Honour Roll in 2003.
