The NDIS at SEC Care
About the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a nationwide program designed to provide individualised support to eligible members of the community. The NDIS takes a whole-of-life approach to individual support, designing care and support packages according to each person’s needs and goals.

In Tasmania, the NDIS is being introduced by age group. This means that you will be able to enter the Scheme depending on your age.
The NDIS is currently available to eligible people aged between 0 and 65 years.
- From 1 July 2018, the NDIS was available for children, aged 0 to 3, and adults aged 35 to 49
- From 1 January 2019, the NDIS was available for adults, aged 50 to 64
- By 1 July 2019, the NDIS became available to all eligible Tasmanians.
